Devlog#8:Sprint2_3
In this final week of the production sprints we added the final touches. Some assets are still a little rough around the edges, but these will be improved during the polish sprint that starts next week.
The final particles (player explosion, rising flames, black hole, burning smoke and holding items) were added. Implementation of some is quite buggy so not all of them are currently present in the game.
The props that will float in space were also added:
Speaking of space, a basic version of the background is now functional. The props don't rotate yet, and the stars in the background will likely be tweaked later.
We also have a basic main menu. The layout and design will be improved later.
To add some more variation to the props, two new trash props are added: toilet, dead robot andmcardboard box.
To counter players who act like goal keepers to prevent you from scoring points, the punch now adds knockback to other players.
Win and lose animations are added that play at the end of the game. The win animation looks too similar to the punch at the moment, so we will likely change it later.
Before the game starts, a player join screen will now pop up; pressing start joins the game, pressing the triangle button starts the game.
Finally, we added all sound effects. The music and ambient background is still missing, and will be added next week,
Next week we will focus on polishing, so mainly improving the art assets and fixing bugs.
