Devlog#7:Sprint2_2


This week we mainly focused on the implementation of last week's assets, as well as bug fixing and ui elements.

We added coloured lights to make it more clear what side is from what team. With the new floor texture and window decoration, the arena is almost finished. 



A bunch of particles were added: fire, explosion, smoke and running dust. Black hole, holding items and player death will be added next week.

The explosion particle also plays when the bomb item explodes. The fire and smoke are added into the environment. The running dust and blue fire still need to be implemented. 

All animations have now been implemented into the game and play correctly. The duration of some animations were tweaked to make them feel more responsive in gameplay.

A bunch of bugs related to carrying items have been fixed: some props were rotated to prevent getting stuck on them; longer items were rotated to make throwing them into the incinerator easier. An issue where certain trash items would not trigger a stun is fixed. Animation bugs, like the pickup animation being stuck should you die, were resolved.

There is now a short delay between death and respawning. Upon respawning, you no longer carry the item you were holding when you died. Character portraits also change depending on the players state.


The main menu is functional but doesn't feature art yet. Next week we will create the player select screen and the victory screen.

Next week we will add the finishing touches: the background and its props, menu and UI art, particles, sound and music...
